Description
Adhere to ABC Professional Tree Services, Inc. policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, as well as DOT regulations. Operate and drive various equipment such as bucket trucks, split dumps, flatbeds, and loaders. Haul heavy equipment, including Jarraffs, skid steers, excavators, loaders, dump trucks, mowers, and stump grinders, transporting them to and from multi-state job locations. Assist tree climbers by dragging brush and wood to the truck, feeding brush into the woodchipper, and cleaning up debris. Work around hazardous equipment and maintain trucks, chippers, and other equipment in accordance with DOT specifications. Follow dispatching processes and federal regulations, performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, and maintaining all required DOT documents, including driver logs and time records.
Routine Job Functions:
  • Ability to back into loading areas with minimal clearance left, right, overhead, on a curved path, and other positions, etc.
  • Able to drive day or night and in a variety of climates and road conditions.
  • Able to work alone and closely with supervision, customers, and the general public in such a manner as to reflect favorably on ABC, as well as on all professional drivers.
  • Ability to fuel equipment.

Other Requirements:
  • Pass road test.
  • Must have current Driver License (CDL)
  • Must qualify for DOT Driver program (files)
  • Ability to complete all mileage forms and DOT logs in a legible manner.
  • Knowledge of what to do in case of an accident and the reporting thereof.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, and to respond to official inquiries and to make entries on reports and records.

Job Requirements:
  • Pass DOT physical and drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Lifting/Carrying: Regularly. One (1) to Fifty (50) Pounds.
  • Crouching/Stooping/Kneeling: Regularly
  • Walking: Regularly. Work is often performed on sloping, uneven ground.
  • Pushing: Occasionally. Approximately 33% of time.
  • Pulling: Regularly. Approximately 66% of the time.
  • Climbing: None
