Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our client's Medical Surgical/Oncology team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic acute care environment providing high-quality patient care to adult medical-surgical patients, including those with oncology-related diagnoses.
The unit is currently expanding, creating an exciting opportunity for nurses who thrive in a fast-paced setting and are passionate about delivering exceptional patient-centered care. While the primary focus of this role is Medical-Surgical nursing, candidates must be comfortable with telemetry monitoring and complete required telemetry competency training.
Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical patients, including those with oncology diagnoses.
Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.
Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
Interpret and monitor telemetry data and communicate significant findings to the healthcare team.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records documentation.
Adhere to all hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and patient safety standards.
Qualifications
Required:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Preferred:
Medical Oncology nursing experience.
Telemetry experience and competency in cardiac monitoring.
Previous experience in a large academic medical center.
