Shift Leader Responsibilities

  • Reporting to theRestaurant General Manager, our Shift Leaders are the champions of betterburgers! In this role you will:
  • Manage theperformance of both FOH & BOH employees
  • Promote a fun andpositive work environment
  • Manage theeffectiveness of people focused processes and systems
  • Provide initialand ongoing training to all employees within the unit utilizing SmashConnect,LMS, and 4 step method of training
  • Reward andrecognizes employee performance that exceeds company standards
  • Manage withintegrity the daily completion of operational check lists to include
  • Line checks anduniform standards
  • Opening/closingcheck lists
  • Safe and depositlogs
  • Manage the guestexperience metrics (NPS and OSAT)
  • Manage FSCoperational standards daily
  • Ensure all foodsafety standards are followed & in compliance with local health depts.
  • Exemplify guestservice on each shift of the day and communicates SIZZLE service standards tothe employees
  • Manage thesuccessful onboarding and training for all new employees
  • Follow COGSmanagement procedures for food ordering and inventory
  • Follow companycash policies to ensure minimal losses through theft or shortages
  • Manage dailylabor

Shift Leader Requirements

  • Previous ShiftLeader Experience
  • 90-day completionof train the trainer course
  • Flexible to worknights, weekends, and holidays
  • FollowSmashburger uniform standards
  • Abilityto follow all guidelines and procedures set forth by Smashburger, local, state,and federal employment regulations
  • Must successfullycomplete Smashburger training program
  • Possess strongcommunication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with restaurantmanagement, front line employees and corporate support teams
  • People managementskills to effectively select, assess, coach/counsel, develop, motivate, andlead restaurant teams
  • Excellentattention to detail
  • Proven timemanagement, consistency, and organizational skills
  • Highly motivated,self-directed, and results driven
  • Physical abilityto stand for extended periods of time and to move and lift boxes of food/supplies up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to workin high temperatures
