Job description

Join Our Team as a Lowboy Driver/Equipment Operator at Kirkpatrick Concrete of Burlington, Inc.

Kirkpatrick Concrete of Burlington, Inc. is a locally and family-owned company with over 40 years of experience in the concrete construction field. We are currently seeking a experienced and dedicated Lowboy Driver/Equipment Operator to join our team in Burlington, NC. If you have current Class A CDL, medical card and great driving record give us a call!

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Have, keep and maintain in effect a current Class A Commercial Driver License and medical card in accordance with local, state and federal laws.
  • Safely operate a Class A commerical motor vehicle with lowboy trailer and other assigned trucks
  • Secure heavy contruction equipment properly for safe transportation between job sites
  • Pick up and deliver equipment to job sites in a safe and timely manner as possible
  • Inspect truck and trailer for any defective items
  • Assist construction crews with tasks as needed on job sites between moves
  • Maintain a good driving record for Insurance approval
  • Perform equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of vehicle
  • Follow instructions on job site and work well with other crew members

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge and ability to follow all company safety policies, OHSA and DOT requirements
  • Experience operating tractor and trailer
  • Some experience or ability to learn operation of heavy equipment such as motor graders, skid steers and curb machine
  • Ability to follow directions and locate job sites
  • Ability to perform quality equipment maintenance
  • Experience with preventive maintenance
  • Strong understanding of personal protective equipment and safety protocols
  • Willingness to work in others areas of daily operations as needed
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with basic mechanics
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance and hydraulics
