The CNG HAZMAT Transport Driver will provide extensive knowledge, experience, and leadership for the safe transportation of all natural gas products & projects. The role will be to operate and maintain equipment, support LNG and CNG delivery, and ensure overall project success while providing top-level customer service and leadership in the field. This position will report directly to the Director of Transportation.

The CNG HAZMAT Transport Driver must reside within 30 minutes of Houston, TX (77064). The route information for the CNG HAZMAT Driver will route roughly 80-100 miles round trip. The driver will start in Conroe, TX pick up a loaded CNG trailer and deliver to the job site in Houston, TX. The CNG Driver will drop loaded trailer, hook up to start unloading, connect to empty trailer and bring it back to Conroe, TX. The driver should be home every night and potentially stay out one night should something arise.ย The role requires flexibility to travel over the road for extended periods, including multi-day or multi-week assignments. The driver will transport various types of natural gas equipment and may also be responsible for the delivery of LNG and CNG fuel.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Safely operating company equipment associated with the delivering, loading, and off-loading of LNG and CNG
  • Understand applications and limitations of company equipment.
  • Participate in pre-job planning and implementation activities as required.
  • Set up and move equipment to and around project locations.
  • Able to identify potential issues with company equipment as well as able to identify other issues during pre/post trip inspections.
  • Properly report equipment defects, accident, traffic violations or damage to equipment
  • Operate mid to heavy duty vehicles alone and combined with trailers.
  • Secure cargo for transportation, using chains, binders, tarps, bungee cords, and ratchets.
  • Adequately document daily activities including hours of service, fuel tracking and all DOT regulations
  • Understand and ensure compliance with company standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Have a sound understanding of DOT regulations, internal policies, government safety and regulatory standards, and ensure these polices, and standards, are applied to daily activities and job sites.
  • Maintain a clean environment inside and outside of assigned vehicle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be local to 30 minutes of Houston, TX (77064)ย required.
  • 2+ years of CDL driving with HAZMAT & Tanker experience required.ย Familiarity with Samsara preferred.
  • Must be able to drive a manual transmission.
  • Endorsements required: HAZMAT & Tanker (from permanent home state)
  • Valid DOT & CDL license. Current DOT Medical Card. TWIC Card a plus.
  • All Drivers must have an acceptable motor vehicle record & provide moving violations from the past 3 years.
  • Obtain Texas Railroad Commission LNG & CNG Certification (within 45 days of start).
  • Previous employers and references will be checked and must be verifiable.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), mobile email & apps.
  • Able to respond to customers with courtesy and knowledge, in person and by telephone.
  • Apply good judgment and customer service skills and maintain a positive appearance.
