What will you be doing?

At WWT, our Client Managers are trusted advisors who help State, Local Government, and Education (SLED) organizations solve complex technology challenges and achieve meaningful outcomes.

In this role, you will lead WWT's sales efforts across Illinois, partnering with customers to align technology investments with business objectives. Leveraging the expertise of WWT's world-class architects, engineers, consultants, and strategic partners, you will help customers modernize infrastructure, strengthen cybersecurity, accelerate cloud adoption, harness AI and data, and improve organizational resilience.

You'll also have access to WWT's industry-leading Advanced Technology Center (ATC), providing a unique platform for customer briefings, workshops, demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and hands-on validation of solutions.

This is an opportunity to build lasting executive relationships, drive strategic growth, and make a measurable impact across Illinois public sector organizations.

Travel: Up to 25%

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive growth within assigned Illinois SLED accounts.

  • Build trusted advisor relationships with executive and technical stakeholders, including C-suite leaders and key decision-makers.

  • Identify customer business challenges and align WWT solutions and services to deliver measurable outcomes.

  • Lead complex sales opportunities from discovery through close, coordinating resources across sales, engineering, consulting, and partner teams.

  • Collaborate with OEM partners and internal subject matter experts to develop innovative, customer-focused solutions.

  • Drive pipeline development, opportunity management, and accurate forecasting.

  • Champion WWT's full portfolio of capabilities, including cloud, cybersecurity, AI and data, infrastructure modernization, digital transformation, and professional services.

  • Facilitate customer engagement through executive briefings, workshops, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept activities utilizing the WWT ATC.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of successful technology sales experience supporting State, Local Government, and Education (SLED) customers within Illinois.

  • Demonstrated success managing and growing strategic customer relationships within an assigned territory.

  • Experience engaging executive-level stakeholders and leading consultative, value-based sales conversations.

  • Strong understanding of the Illinois SLED landscape, including procurement processes, funding mechanisms, contracts, and go-to-market strategies.

  • Knowledge of E-Rate programs and funding opportunities preferred.

  • Existing relationships with Illinois public sector organizations and/or R1 research universities are highly desirable.

  • Experience selling technology solutions and services across one or more of the following areas:

  • Cybersecurity

  • Networking and Infrastructure

  • Cloud and Data Center

  • Collaboration

  • Data, Analytics, and AI

  • Ability to uncover customer challenges, develop strategic account plans, and align the right resources to deliver outcomes.

  • Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and build strong partner relationships.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and relationship management skills.

  • Candidate preferably resides in Chicago, IL; will also consider North/Central Illinois area.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience preferred.

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $90,000.00 to $135,000.00 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.
