How much do local flagger jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 17, 2026, the average hourly pay for local flagger in Oregon is $18.28, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $15.24 and $20.34 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A local flagger typically earns between $15 and $30 per hour, which can amount to around $2,500 to $4,500 a month, depending on hours worked. Earning $10,000 a month without a degree generally requires higher-paying roles such as skilled trades, sales, or entrepreneurship, rather than entry-level positions like flagging. Achieving such income often involves experience, certifications, or owning a business.

What are some common challenges faced by Local Flaggers, and how can they effectively manage them?

Local Flaggers often face challenges such as working in varying weather conditions, maintaining constant situational awareness, and ensuring clear communication with drivers and construction teams. Managing these challenges requires staying alert at all times, wearing appropriate safety gear, and using standardized hand signals or radios for effective communication. Building strong teamwork skills and remaining adaptable to changing job site conditions are also essential for staying safe and keeping traffic flowing smoothly.

How do I get a job as a flagger?

To become a flagger, you typically need to complete a traffic control training course and obtain a certification such as the OSHA-approved flagger certification. Employers often look for good communication skills, attention to safety, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Some positions may require a valid driver's license and physical fitness for the job environment.

Where do flaggers get paid the most?

Flaggers tend to earn higher wages in regions with a higher cost of living or where construction activity is more intense, such as urban areas or states with significant infrastructure projects. Experience, certifications, and working during overtime or night shifts can also increase pay rates for flaggers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Local Flagger, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Local Flagger, you need a solid understanding of traffic control procedures, safety regulations, and often a flagger certification from a recognized authority. Familiarity with hand signaling devices, two-way radios, and personal protective equipment (PPE) is typically required. Strong communication, alertness, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential soft skills for this role. These skills and qualities are crucial for ensuring the safety of workers, motorists, and pedestrians in traffic control zones.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Jobs that can pay $2,000 a day typically include specialized roles such as high-level contractors, certain freelance consultants, or skilled trades like commercial pilots or surgeons. These positions often require extensive experience, certifications, or working in high-demand industries with significant responsibilities and hours.

What are local flaggers?

Local flaggers are workers responsible for directing and controlling traffic in and around construction zones, roadwork sites, or areas where normal traffic patterns are disrupted. They use signs, flags, and hand signals to communicate with drivers and ensure the safety of both the public and the workers on site. Local flaggers play a critical role in preventing accidents, minimizing delays, and maintaining a safe environment during road construction or maintenance projects.

Job description

ABOUT HAYS ENTERPRISE SOLUTIONS

Hays Enterprise Solutions manages and strategically develops a defined portfolio of global clients across all Hays service lines and geographies — working at the C-suite level to increase market share, expand geographic reach, and deepen client loyalty. Our Outsource Services portfolio spans Managed Service Programs (MSP) and Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO), covering everything from product development and sales through delivery, supplier management, governance, compliance, and technology.

OUR NEW ROLE

We are seeking a Recruiter to support our RPO partnership with a leading renewable energy company. This role will support our client groups in Canada and will need to be fluent in both English and French. In this role, you will manage full-cycle hiring across technical, corporate, and operations roles — ensuring a smooth, efficient process for both candidates and Hiring Managers. You’ll be a trusted partner to the business, a collaborative teammate to Sourcers and Coordinators, and a consistent driver of quality delivery in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY DO

Your day is built around owning the full recruitment process — from intake through offer — while keeping Hiring Managers informed, candidates engaged, and data clean. You’ll work closely with Sourcers and Coordinators to keep the process moving and the experience high.

Full-Cycle Recruitment

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for assigned requisitions: intake, sourcing, screening, interviews, and offer coordination
  • Build and maintain candidate pipelines for technical, corporate, and operations roles across the client’s business
  • Meet agreed SLAs and deliver a consistently strong candidate experience at every stage
  • Maintain accurate data and workflow compliance within the ATS

Hiring Manager Partnership & Team Collaboration

  • Act as a trusted partner to Hiring Managers — providing guidance on talent availability, market insights, recruitment strategy, and process expectations
  • Partner with Sourcers and Coordinators, ensuring they have the right information to support each stage of the process effectively
  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders throughout the hiring cycle, managing expectations and flagging risks early

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of recruitment experience in an RPO, in-house, or agency setting
  • Bilingual in English and French languages
  • Experience recruiting for manufacturing, corporate, or service roles in the renewable energy sector is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple requisitions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Proficiency with ATS platforms — SuccessFactors preferred — and sourcing tools
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to build credibility quickly with Hiring Managers
  • Highly organized with strong time management and the ability to prioritize across a full requisition load
  • Team-first mindset with a genuine drive to be part of a high-performing delivery team

WHAT YOU’LL GET IN RETURN

  • Base Salary: $60,000–$85,000 depending on experience
  • Hybrid schedule — [location and cadence details]
  • PTO starting at 22 days, plus 2 floating holidays and 2 volunteer days — top performers earn unlimited PTO
  • Competitively priced medical, vision, and dental plans
  • 401(k) with guaranteed match and fast-paced vesting schedule
  • Continuous training and support through Hays Learning & Development
