Local Delivery Driver/Yard Support

Renowned for top-tier quality and a commitment to customer satisfaction, we're looking for a motivated Local Delivery Driver & Landscape Yard Support to join our growing team. In this dual role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring smooth project operations delivering materials and equipment to job sites, supporting inventory management, and maintaining a clean, organized yard. What you'll be doing as aLocal Delivery Driver/Yard Support:
  • Operate a variety of company vehicles
  • Load and unload materials and machinery both at the company yard and on job sites
  • Pick up and deliver supplies, tools, and materials as needed
  • Accurately pick materials to fulfill work orders and ensure timely jobsite delivery
  • Return unused or reclaimed materials to inventory in a clean and organized manner
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized yard and work environment
  • Assist in organizing and staging outgoing materials and equipment for upcoming projects
  • Help receive incoming deliveries and verify material counts against packing slips or invoices
  • Maintain inventory by labeling, tracking, and storing materials in the correct locations
  • Perform routine yard maintenance including snow removal, salting, sweeping, and weed control
  • Monitor and refuel equipment and vehicles as needed, ensuring readiness for daily operations
  • Safely operate company vehicles to deliver landscaping materials and equipment, ensuring timely and secure transportation to job sites
  • Keep precise and up-to-date delivery records, completing all necessary paperwork accurately and promptly
  • Follow all traffic laws, company safety protocols, and best practices to ensure a safe driving environment for yourself and others
  • Provide support with general warehouse duties when not on deliveries, assisting with inventory management, equipment organization, and other essential tasks
  • Ensure all equipment is in top working condition, performing pre-trip inspections and reporting any maintenance issues promptly
  • Collaborate with the landscaping team to ensure seamless project execution and superior customer satisfaction
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment by maintaining excellent communication with colleagues and clients
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and "ownership mentality" in all tasks
  • Perform additional duties and support the landscaping team as assigned

Physical Requirements:
The Local Delivery Driver/Yard Support position at Lowney's Landscaping involves physical labor and the ability to perform various tasks associated with driving and delivering landscaping materials. The ideal candidate should be able to meet the following physical demands:
  • Ability to lift, carry, and load heavy materials such as bags of soil, plants, mulch, tools, and equipment, often up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, and twisting when loading and unloading materials at various job sites.
  • Climbing in and out of vehicles regularly, including accessing cargo areas and securing materials during transit.
  • Standing for long periods while performing deliveries, organizing materials, or preparing for unloading.
  • Walking and navigating job sites, which may involve uneven ground, slopes, or confined spaces, when delivering materials and assisting clients.
  • Operating heavy machinery and equipment for loading and unloading, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other lifting devices.
  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, heat, and cold, when making deliveries and assisting with site preparations.
  • Repetitive motions such as handling materials, securing loads, and completing delivery documentation.
  • Physical stamina and endurance to maintain focus and perform tasks throughout a full workday, including extended hours or multiple deliveries.
