Job description

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY:   Key and scan data from toxicology requisition forms into CRL computer system.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Enter/double demographic information from requisition forms received from laboratory into computer system.
  • Enter sample setup information from requisition forms.
  • Must meet minimum data entry consents per hour requirements as outlined in the incentive program.
  • Collate and distribute reports as required.
  • Operate imaging equipment and complete document posting as needed.
  • File consents for short term and long term storage.
  • Perform and complete daily quality assurance audits and reconciliation reviews.
  • Correct images when errors are found during quality assurance audits and reconciliation reviews, rescanning and indexing corrections.
  • Scan all documents within required timelines; review screen image to assure accurate image.
  • Store documents in secured area, place documents in shred bin as required.
  • Perform light maintenance on the scanners and other small office equipment.
  • Communicate problems and errors identified during processing and/or task completion to management team. 
  • Maintain and protect the confidentiality of all CRL, CRL subsidiaries, legal entities and client information.
  • Be able to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job.
  • Keep work area neat and clean.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:   High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:   Previous data entry work experience helpful

SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

  • Keystroke speed of 9,000 ksph and 95% accuracy
  • Ability to read and interpret handwritten information quickly and retain new information for processing
  • Some judgment and decision making
  • Cooperative approach to work; adaptable, good verbal communication
  • Ability to be at work and on time
  • Ability and judgment to interact and communicate appropriately with other employees, clients and management

The following physical attributes are required for this position:

  • Sitting for extended lengths of time
  • Close vision requirements due to computer work
  • Repetitive use of hands, fingers, wrists, and elbows for operating a computer and telephone
  • Light lifting, up to 10 pounds

EQUIPMENT:   Personal computer, scan gun, phone, fax, printer, imaging scanner, copier, shipping system

OTHER:  Overtime required to meet business needs, to be determined daily. Weekend work as required.
