ABOUT THE ROLE

Drive Market Strategy for the Next Era of Professional Football.

The United Football League is seeking strategic, relationship-driven, and performance-oriented leaders for our team markets. You will be responsible for growing the teamโ€™s business and brand within its local market by driving revenue, expanding fan engagement, strengthening community presence, and delivering experiences for fans and partners.

The Head of Business Operations (Team) owns the local business strategy and performance, leading the integration of ticketing, sponsorship, marketing, communications, and game day experience that deliver market growth objectives. Success in this role requires you to align people, resources, and partnerships around a clear vision while building a culture of accountability and execution. As a senior business leader in the market, you will cultivate key relationships, identify growth opportunities and lead a cross-function team focused on delivering measurable business results.

The UFL is hiring this role in each of our team markets across the league, seeking leaders who are energized by building businesses, growing brands, developing people, and advancing the growth of professional football in their communities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO Integrated Business Leadership

Develop and execute a local market business plan that aligns ticketing, sponsorship, marketing, communications, and fan engagement strategies around shared business objectives.

Orchestrate all business functions as an interconnected ecosystem maximizing the impact of every marketing campaign, partnership activation, earned media opportunity, and fan engagement initiative.

Establish clear performance metrics and accountability across all local business functions and continuously evaluate effectiveness against goals.

Market Leadership + Brand Building

Serve as the steward of the UFLโ€™s reputation and long-term growth in market, ensuring all business activities strengthen brand equity and community relevance.

Build and maintain strategic relationships with corporate, civic, media, community, and sports stakeholders.

Identify and cultivate strategic relationships that create new business opportunities, expand audience reach, and accelerate market growth.

Revenue Generation

Own and deliver against team revenue targets, with a primary focus on sponsorship and ticket sales performance.

Support the development and closing of high-value partnership opportunities.

Create integrated commercial programs that leverage marketing, communications, sponsorship, community engagement and game day experiences to drive measurable business outcomes.

Optimize local revenue strategies to maximize partner value, attendance, and overall market performance.

Marketing, Fan Growth, and Game Day Experience

Lead the development, partnership, and execution of integrated local marketing and game day campaigns that drive awareness, attendance, and fan engagement.

Partner with League game operations, marketing, partnerships, and local staff to shape a high-quality game-day experience

Champion a performance marketing mindset, using data and insights to acquire, retain, and grow the fan base.

Ensure all campaigns align with league brand standards while reflecting local market insights.

Collaborate with league teams to scale national partnerships into local market activations.

People Leadership and Business Operations

Build and develop a high-performing team across ticketing, partnerships marketing, communications and game day experience.

Manage local business operations, budget, and resources against clear KPIs.

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

BA/BS required. MA/MBA preferred.

10 + years of progressive experience in marketing, sponsorship sales, and/or revenue generation, preferably in sports, media, or entertainment.

Demonstrated success in selling and activating corporate partnerships and driving measurable revenue growth.

Strong background in consumer marketing, brand building, and fan development strategies.

Proven ability to lead integrated marketing and revenue organizations.

Experience owning and delivering against revenue targets.

Deep understanding of local market dynamics and community engagement.

Strong executive presence with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.

Experience operating in a fast-paced, high-growth or start-up environment.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

Budget management and strategic planning experience.

Willingness and ability to serve as a public-facing leader and spokesperson.

Experience in the sports and entertainment industries preferred.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
  • Hybrid role; presence required at all games and key events.

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $235,000. This range reflects the expected compensation based on qualifications, experience, and location. This role is eligible for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits, including medical/dental/vision/life insurance, a 401(k) plan, unlimited PTO and offers a discretionary bonus. The actual base salary offered will remain subject to final determination of the UFL and will be based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, location or other reasonable criteria consistent with UFLโ€™s operational business needs and applicable law.
