Job description

Are you passionate about helping public sector organizations transform lives through technology. Join AWS Global Sales, where we drive cloud adoption worldwide and enable customers of all sizes to innovate and expand in the cloud. We're seeking a skilled Solutions Architect to accelerate customer adoption in state, local government, and education sectors.
As a Solutions Architect in our public sector team, you'll work directly with government agencies and educational institutions to architect solutions that improve student and citizen experiences using AWS cloud technologies

This role offers exceptional opportunities to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization while gaining exposure to a vast technology stack. You'll become both an industry and technical thought leader, meaningfully adding value to public service delivery through innovative cloud solutions.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to state, local government, and/or education customers, designing and building solutions to difficult technical problems using AWS cloud services
- Educate and share best practices by developing, delivering, and maintaining technical content including sample code, presentations, white papers, and workshops that incorporate lessons learned from customer engagements
- Take customer input and translate it into technical requirements, working closely with internal teams including sales, business development, professional services, and engineering to drive customer success
- Own the end-to-end design of cloud architecture solutions, conducting technical deep-dives with customer teams and providing guidance on security, scalability, availability, and performance best practices
- Identify gaps in products and services while mentoring teammates on designing technical customer solutions and coordinating speaking opportunities at events that educate technical and business audiences
A day in the life
Your day begins engaging customer stakeholders in technical discovery sessions, understanding their unique challenges and translating requirements into innovative AWS solutions.

You'll spend time developing and presenting architecture solutions, building compelling demonstrations of what's possible with AWS through customer demos and proof of concepts. Between customer meetings, you'll collaborate with internal teams to refine technical approaches, create best practice documentation, and mentor colleagues on solution design patterns that drive meaningful outcomes for public sector customers.
About the team
Our Solutions Architecture team is dedicated to supporting state, local government, and education customers in their cloud transformation journey. We work closely with public sector organizations to understand their unique challenges and regulatory requirements, crafting solutions that improve citizen and student experiences while optimizing operations.
Our team fosters a culture of innovation and collaboration, where you'll work alongside some of the brightest technical minds in the industry

We're focused on building long-term relationships with our customers, helping them leverage AWS technologies to achieve their mission-critical objectives while continuously learning and sharing knowledge within our inclusive team environment.
Diverse Experiences
AWS values diverse experiences. Even if you do not meet all of the preferred qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply. If your career is just starting, hasn't followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don't let it stop you from applying.
