Job Description
FLSA Classification: Laborer
Overtime Status: Non- Exempt
Braen Stone Industries, the leading supplier of construction materials including stone, sand, asphalt, septic materials, recycled materials and agricultural limestone, is currently seeking an Equipment Operator in our Ringwood quarry.
We are a safety minded company and expect the successful candidate to be as well. This position is hourly, non-exempt from overtime. Overtime is paid after 8 hours are worked each day. After a probationary period of sixty (60) days, the employee will be required to join Local #472. Medical/Dental/Vision benefits are provided through Local #472 after Union waiting period is satisfied.
Expectations/ Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Operate various heavy equipment, including but not limited to dozers, scrapers, loaders, excavators, front loaders/back hoes to move aggregate related materials
  • Operate heavy equipment to load, unload materials
  • General Yard duties associated with daily tasks
  • Inspects equipment/machinery to maintain safe daily operations
  • Complete miscellaneous jobs according to business needs
  • Must be able to read, comprehend manuals & directions

Required Knowledge/Skills/Aptitudes:
  • Must have an optimistic attitude and willing to learn new tasks
  • Must be able to read, comprehend manuals & directions effectively and clearly
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with fellow employees and supervisors

Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to climb, stoop, bend/kneel and squat frequently during general inspection of machinery/equipment
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Routine pushing/pulling when operating hand controls
  • Minimal to light level of lifting is occasionally required
  • Daily checking of equipment/machinery for pre-shift compliance
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

Travel: This position is based in Ringwood, NJ
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
  • Hours of work are generally 6am to 6pm Monday through Friday (subject to change)
  • Saturday work will be required
  • Seasonal lay-offs are a possibility

Pay: $28.27-$29.27/Hour
