ABOUT THE ROLE

CountryPlace Mortgage, a leading nationwide personal property, mortgage and commercial lender headquartered in Plano, TX, is seeking a Loan Officer Trainee to help grow our Originations Department. This in-person role is in our Plano, TX office.  As a Loan Officer Trainee, you will collaborate with Loan Officers, Loan Processors, Lending Associates, Underwriting, Compliance team and other essential departments.  The Loan Officer Trainee will be responsible for performing a detailed review of loan documentation. This includes reviewing the credit application, credit reports, income documentation, asset documentation and any other loan documentation required to render a credit decision.  The Loan Officer Trainee will also be accountable to study for and pass the MLO Exam.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and analyze loan application, credit report, income and asset documentation to render credit decisions in compliance with investor guidelines
  • Maintain the highest level of service possible for retailers and customers
  • Provide unparalleled service, ensuring needs are met in a timely and accurate manner
  • Effectively communicate the loan approval or denial reasons to appropriate party
  • Work with internal staff to provide follow-up, counter offers and additional information
  • Refer loan requests with recommendations and documentation to underwriters
  • Reviews conditions submitted on approved loans, clears conditions when appropriate and submits to Credit Analyst for review and approval
  • Ensure loans adhere to investor guidelines
  • Assist Loan Officers by completing service orders and reviewing condition submissions
  • Assist servicing department by collecting payments during times of high volume
  • Ability to adjust work and thought process to accommodate multiple investor guidelines
  • Dedicate time to studying MLO Exam materials, completing practice and passing the MLO Exam
  • Assist LO’s in ordering services, preparing internal items and other LO tasks as
  • Apply for licenses as directed by management and complete all license requirements in a timely manner
  • Communicate with borrowers for conditions and other clerical items
  • Consistently meets and exceeds individual, team and department objectives
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS degree required in Marketing, Business, Accounting, Finance or Management
