Job description

Join the company defining what it means to be an Impact Lender!
Mortgages are what we do, but that doesn't define who we are. In 2008, Movement disrupted the industry with the innovative 6-7-1 mortgage process. In 2023, we pioneered again, helping launch Impact Lending - a new category of lending. Any mortgage lender that commits at least 10% of its profits to helping the neighborhoods it serves is an Impact Lender.
At Movement, we are Impact Lenders. We give 40%-50% of our profits to making an impact in our communities. For us, purpose and people have always come before profit.
Due to growth, Movement Mortgage is seeking a Loan Closer II to support our closing operations team. In this role, the Closer prepares and sends closing instructions within twenty-four hours of being assigned a closing file and confirms the loan is ready to close and sellable to the company's investors.
Candidates should be comfortable with an in-office schedule of four days per week to support team collaboration and business needs.
Performance Objectives
  • Prepare and send closing instructions within twenty-four hours of being assigned the closing file.
  • Confirm all underwriting, closing, and funding conditions will be cleared prior to closing.
  • Verify cash to/from closing is clear based on the specific loan program.
  • Review and approve the final CD settlement statement according to loan program requirements.
  • Confirm the loan meets state and federal compliance requirements prior to releasing the closing package.
  • Review final closing documents to ensure they are compliant with the applicable loan product type.
  • Request wire release on the loan file.
  • Upload and label the final CD statement and closing instructions.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients.

Essential Skills and Experience
  • High school diploma required.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills, teamwork, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Mortgage Closing Experience
  • 3-5+ years of mortgage closing experience.
  • Experience with Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loans.
  • Knowledge of TRID, RESPA, TILA, and state-specific closing requirements.
  • Ability to balance CDs and coordinate with title companies independently.
  • Experience managing a high-volume pipeline and meeting tight closing deadlines.
