Performance Test Engineer

Seeking a Performance Test Engineer with strong experience in Tricentis NeoLoad and LoadRunner to lead performance testing, performance engineering, and scalability analysis for enterprise applications, cloud-native platforms, APIs, data warehouses, and data lakes.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and execute end-to-end performance test strategies for enterprise applications, AWS-native applications, APIs, microservices, data warehouses, and data lake pipelines. Define performance objectives, workload models, test data requirements, schedules, and entry/exit criteria. Execute load, stress, endurance, scalability, resiliency, and capacity tests using NeoLoad and other approved tools.
  • Analyze performance and resiliency results across application, database, middleware, network, cloud, and infrastructure layers. Evaluate response time, throughput, CPU, memory, I/O, latency, error rates, auto-scaling, failover, and recovery metrics. Identify bottlenecks and performance risks and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Support performance engineering for cloud modernization, data platform migrations, and high-volume processing solutions. Validate AWS services, cloud-native architectures, containerized workloads, ETL/ELT pipelines, databases, data warehouses, and data lake integrations. Recommend tuning and capacity improvements.
  • Provide technical leadership for performance testing engagements. Lead defect triage and root-cause analysis, support production performance investigations, establish performance baselines and reporting, and mentor team members on NeoLoad, cloud observability, automation, and performance testing best practices.
  • Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable automated validation, early performance feedback, and release readiness.

Required Skills

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in performance testing, performance engineering, resiliency testing, or quality engineering.

Hands-on experience with Tricentis NeoLoad and LoadRunner.

Strong experience with performance test design, workload modeling, test execution, monitoring, bottleneck analysis, and results reporting.

Experience with AWS/cloud platforms, CI/CD, and performance test automation.

Experience with enterprise applications, APIs, microservices, cloud-native architectures, data warehouses, data lakes, and ETL/ELT pipelines.

Programming/scripting/query experience with technologies such as JavaScript, Java, Groovy, Python, SQL, or shell scripting.

Experience with database and data platforms including Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, data warehouses, and data lakes.

Knowledge of cloud scalability, auto-scaling, monitoring, observability, resiliency, failover, recovery, and capacity testing.

Knowledge of performance testing lifecycle, SDLC, Agile methodologies, and non-functional requirements.

Experience with test automation, API testing, service virtualization, test data management, and automated performance test gates.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with performance monitoring tools and reporting dashboards.

Knowledge of code quality and promotion practices.
