Job Description
Responsible for controlling and overseeing vehicular traffic on Convention Center freight docks, service roads and temporary staging areas. Also responsible for executing freight dock plans of the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC), and ensuring that they are carried out effectively and efficiently. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Sr. Security Rep or Assistant Security Supervisor. Performance is reviewed through conferences, reports and results achieved.
  • Executes dock plans under the supervision of assigned Sr. Security Rep or Assistant Security Supervisor.
  • Assists contract freight companies in controlling the movement of freight vehicles during move-in and move-out operations in coordination with Event Managers and/or Event Security Liaisons.
  • Responsible for rolling dock doors during move-in/out activity.
  • Coordinates with Security Representatives for opening/closing freight doors after hours.
  • Patrols freight dock areas to enforce parking regulations.
  • Enforces speed regulations in and around the loading dock basin, perimeter roads and parking lot areas.
  • Patrols designated temporary truck staging areas to ensure trucks are in their proper location(s).
  • Makes regular tour of assigned areas listing all irregularities observed.
  • Monitors adherence to contract agreement pertaining to loading dock area(s) being left clean when the show moves out in coordination with the Event Managers and/or Event Security Liaisons.
  • Ensures and enforces compliance with fire protection regulations.
  • Ensures all exit areas are free and clear and fire protection equipment is readily accessible.
  • Enforces safety in the work place policies and regulations.
  • Assists in the placement of staging lines with the use of traffic control devices.
  • Operates county vehicles and golf carts.
  • Lifts/carries heavy traffic devices and other related items.
  • Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
