We offer a full range of roadside safety products and onsite traffic services to our customers. POSITION OVERVIEW

As a member of our operations team, the Traffic Technician will be responsible for setting up, taking down and maintaining traffic accommodations in work zones. This position is seasonal in nature with the possibility of becoming full-time permanent based upon work demands.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Deliver, set-up, takedown and maintain traffic control devices to provincial/ local specifications

· Provide preventative maintenance and cleaning to traffic control trucks

· Set-up and service trailer traffic equipment (message boards, traffic lights, arrow boards, etc.)

· Complete necessary paperwork accurately and send to Project Coordinators in a timely manner

· Load and unload traffic equipment including but not limited to barricades weighing up to 120 lbs.

· Understand the demands of provincial and local regulations related to traffic control

· Safely direct motorist and pedestrian traffic for the safety of road users and work crews

· Maintain a professional demeanor to the public and customers while in the field

· Pre-plan traffic control sites with the creation and use of Traffic Accommodation Plans

· Maintain professional and technical knowledge.

· Complete equipment installations as required

· Ability to provide technical supervision regarding traffic control devices to other traffic technicians

· Be readily available to work a variety of hours including nights, weekends, holidays and early mornings.

· Travel to various locations is required; LOA is provided.

· Safely load and secure products and trailer equipment for transportation

· Respect and follow procedures for maintenance and tracking of fleet vehicles and trailers

· Maintain proper organization in the yard when loading and unloading vehicles

· Lead and participate in toolbox/onsite safety meetings

QUALIFICATIONS

· Minimum 1 year construction experience

· Ability to work flexible schedules

· Ability to communicate with project team members to ensure tasks are executed in a timely manner

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Valid provincial drivers license and clean drivers abstract

· Ability to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing

· Preferably, valid Flagger training certificate

· Preferably, current Construction Safety Training certification
