Position Summary
Bulk Loader III: This position loads bulk in trucks or railcars to work order specifications using heavy equipment.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret car and truck loading work orders.
  • Identify proper orders to be loaded by matching car or pickup numbers on AMI work orders with rail cars or trucks.
  • Determine what order cars or trucks should be loaded and the availability of material to load in each car or truck.
  • Follow car or truck inspection procedures listed on work order and document that the inspection was completed.
  • Climb ladders and/or stairs to load railcars and trucks.
  • Operate Track Mobile.
  • Operate controls and valves to flow material from the holding silos to the car or truck.
  • Operate a front-end loader or other car moving equipment to move cars and for clean-up; operate forklift as needed.
  • Manage the switching of rail cars.
  • Perform housekeeping around work area to include around silos and track area.
  • Collect and prepare lot composite samples for the QC lab, if needed.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment at the beginning of each shift.
  • Follow and adhere to all QMS procedures and documentation as applicable to position/department and as required by ISO

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
  1. High School graduate or GED with excellent communication skills.
  2. Ability to operate front-end loader and forklift.
  3. Requires good eye-hand coordination, and smooth, simultaneous hand and foot control.
  4. Strong moral and ethical standards.
  5. Respirator Fit Test is required at hire; no facial hair can interfere with the seal of the respirator at pre-hire and annual fit test screening.

Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a production environment. Position requires lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 55 lbs. on a regular basis. Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop and climb up to 70 feet. Able to operate hand and foot controls simultaneously. Manual dexterity required for operation of hand controls and/or computer keyboard. Vision and a sense of hearing are also required.
