What is a Gun Loader?
The Gun Loader will, under supervision, be responsible for loading perforating guns with detonating cords and charges and preparing them to be shipped to location.
In this role, you will:
• Comply with all safety, health, environmental and quality management system requirements, policies, and procedures that are relevant to the position
• Ensure customer requirements are met according to jobs given to them by managers
• Be responsible for quality control of all subs and associated equipment and use good judgment on all assembly aspects
• Take new barrels, disassemble, and prepare parts for loading
• Install detonating cord, load charges, and tube into barrel
• Ensure compliance with DOT and ATF guidelines
• Assist in problem solving perforating gun systems and implement to perforating guns
• Check perforating guns for electrical communication after the guns are loaded
• Travel as needed (must possess a valid driver’s license and meet the company driver requirement to operate a company vehicle while traveling)
• Perform other duties as assigned
Required and Preferred Experience:
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in a gun loading capacity preferred
• Receive and maintain clearance to operate explosive material with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (BATF)
• Basic computer experience
• Forklift experience
• Class A CDL preferred but not required
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
• Possess the ability to operate, handle, and lift shop equipment and tools
• Lift up to 40lbs (SEF Energy employees shall not manually lift an item weighing more than 50 lbs., they shall utilize mechanical assistance devices. If mechanical assistance devices are not available, utilize a team lift.)
• Work in a shop environment but may on occasion have to travel to location
Education:
• High school diploma, or GED
