Loader (Swing Shift)
Summary:ย Operates overhead cranes, hostler, and forklift to move, and position loads of steel within the production yard and facility.
Salary:ย $20.00 -$28.25/hr
Most employees start between $20.00 and $24.13. ย The higher end of the range, $28.25, is reserved for candidates with exceptional experience or qualifications.
Shift:ย Mon-Fri, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesย include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Actively participate in Seaport Steel's Safety Program.
- Load Trailers using a hostler, forklift, and cranes.
- Review work order paperwork to ensure the accuracy of the load being built.
- Unload incoming trailers and railcars.
- Observes load hookup and determine the safety of the load.
- Manipulates or depresses crane control buttons, to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement.
- Uses hoisting attachments such as hook, sling, or bucket as load requires.
- Cleans and maintains crane and hoisting mechanism.
- Inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.

Education/Experience
Language Ability
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, and other employees of the organization.
Math Ability
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
