The Yard Loader Operator is responsible for efficient material loading and handling using heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, forklifts, and excavators. This role ensures safety compliance, maintains equipment, and coordinates site activities to support smooth yard operations. Operators work standard 8-hour shifts with potential overtime and receive comprehensive on-the-job safety training and regular briefings.

Responsibilities

  • Operate front-end loaders, forklifts, excavators, and other heavy equipment for material loading
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and participate in regular safety briefings
  • Manage inventory and maintain accurate records of materials handled
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance
  • Coordinate with site personnel to optimize workflow
  • Secure loads properly to prevent damage or spillage during transport
