Job description

Introduction
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Equipment Coordinator/Dispatcher to join our operations team. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient coordination of freight movement, supporting drivers, and maintaining optimal use of equipment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, exercises sound judgment, and can make real-time decisions with minimal supervision. We are looking for someone to work in either our Cleveland or Columbus Ohio locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate on-time pick-up and delivery of freight to meet customer and operational requirements
  • Monitor and manage equipment inventory to ensure maximum utilization and efficiency
  • Trace loads and shipments to provide accurate, up-to-date status information
  • Manage freight volume and adjust dispatch plans based on changing conditions
  • Determine when, where, how, and what is required to successfully move each load
  • Make real-time decisions to address delays, equipment shortages, or routing challenges
  • Actively support truck drivers by providing guidance, updates, and problem-solving assistance
  • Maintain clear communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and operational standards
