Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler and Machine Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. This role involves efficiently managing materials, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods through shipping, receiving, and storage processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to operate various machinery safely. This position plays a vital role in maintaining operational excellence, supporting inventory accuracy, and upholding safety standards across the facility. Responsibilities Load and unload materials using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Operate machinery such as cranes and order pickers to facilitate efficient movement of goods within the warehouse. Conduct order picking accurately using RF scanners and pick systems to fulfill customer orders promptly. Maintain proper stacking, storage, and organization of inventory in compliance with warehouse procedures. Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation. Perform heavy lifting tasks safely to handle bulky or heavy items while minimizing risk. Support warehouse management system (WMS) updates for inventory tracking and order processing. Follow OSHA guidelines and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment at all times. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency. Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as forklifts and cranes, reporting any maintenance needs. Skills Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related fields. Proficiency in operating heavy equipment including forklifts, clamp trucks, cranes, and load/unload machinery. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picker technology. Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards applicable to warehouse environments. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods. Experience with construction or materials handling is a plus. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in order picking and inventory management. Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors. Prior warehouse supervisor experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
