About the Role


We are seekingLicensed Master Social Workers (LMSW)to provide behavioral health and supportive services to individuals housed at a Detention Center in Detroit.


This role offers a unique opportunity to deliver critical social services in a secure environment while supporting individuals with diverse behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs.


Its an ideal opportunity for social workers who have experience in crisis intervention, behavioral health, or correctional settings, and who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments where their skills make a meaningful impact every day.


The ideal candidate brings excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a deep commitment to providing compassionate care to a vulnerable population.


As part of a multidisciplinary team, social workers will assess, support, and manage behavioral health concerns in collaboration with medical and facility staff.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention, counseling, and support services to detainees with behavioral health and emotional needs.
  • Assist with substance abuse interventions and support detoxification protocols as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Deliver group and individual therapy sessions, focusing on rehabilitation and reintegration support.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services provided in compliance with clinical guidelines and facility policies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, mental health professionals, and detention staff to ensure holistic care and continuity of services.
  • Comply with all security, safety, and confidentiality protocols within the correctional environment.


Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited educational institution.
  • Licensed as aLicensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)by the State of Michigan. Licensemust be in good standing.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience as an LMSW experience in correctional or behavioral health settings is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
