Job Title: Outpatient Mental Health Therapist (LMSW / LCSW)

Practice: The Wellness Medicine of New York P.C.

Locations: Manhattan & Brooklyn, NY (In-Person & Telehealth)

About Us

The Wellness Medicine of New York is a multi-specialty psychiatric and integrative wellness practice dedicated to delivering personalized, compassionate care. Led by Dr. Bechoy Abdelmalak, our clinical team seamlessly integrates adult psychiatry, medication management, evidence-based psychotherapy, and advanced interventions such as NeuroStar® TMS therapy. We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to collaborate directly with our psychiatric providers in delivering individual, adult-focused psychotherapy.

Position Summary

As a Social Work Clinician at our practice, you will provide outpatient individual psychotherapy to adult patients presenting with mood disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. You will work closely with psychiatric prescribers to deliver holistic, wrap-around care.

Note: LMSW candidates will receive clinical supervision toward their LCSW hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Assessment: Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and initial therapy intake evaluations to identify patient needs and establish diagnostic clarity.

  • Psychotherapy Delivery: Provide evidence-based individual therapy (e.g., CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic, Interpersonal Therapy) tailored to individual treatment plans.

  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Maintain active communication with supervising psychiatrists and medication management providers to align psychotherapy with pharmacological treatment plans.

  • Treatment Planning: Develop, review, and update measurable treatment goals with patients.

  • Clinical Documentation: Maintain prompt, accurate Electronic Health Record (EHR) notes in compliance with NY State regulations and insurance requirements.

  • Crisis Intervention: Assess, risk-stratify, and manage acute clinical crises using appropriate safety planning protocols.
