What is an LMR Technical specialist?

An LMR Technical specialist is a professional who installs, maintains, and repairs Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems. These systems are commonly used in industries such as public safety, transportation, and utilities to provide reliable two-way radio communication. LMR Technical specialists ensure that radio networks function efficiently, troubleshoot issues, and may also be responsible for programming radios and integrating new equipment. This role requires knowledge of radio frequency (RF) technology, electronics, and sometimes networking. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in the field are also important for this position.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an LMR Technical specialist?

To thrive as an LMR Technician, you need a solid understanding of radio frequency (RF) theory, electronics, and troubleshooting, typically supported by vocational training or certifications like ETA International or FCC licensure. Familiarity with two-way radio systems, spectrum analyzers, software for programming radios, and related diagnostic tools is essential. Strong attention to detail, customer service skills, and effective communication make someone stand out in this position. These skills and qualities are crucial for ensuring reliable communication systems, minimizing downtime, and delivering responsive technical support.

What are some common challenges faced by LMR Technical specialists and how can they be overcome?

LMR (Land Mobile Radio) Technical professionals often encounter challenges such as troubleshooting complex radio frequency (RF) issues, managing interoperability between different communication systems, and working in environments where system downtime is critical. To overcome these, professionals stay updated on the latest radio technologies, participate in ongoing training, and collaborate closely with engineering teams and end-users. Building strong communication skills and maintaining detailed documentation also help in resolving issues efficiently and ensuring system reliability.

Job description

Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT)
Human Performance Optimization | Air National Guard

Help elite aircrew perform at their best—before, during, and after the mission.

LMR Technical Group is seeking a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) to join a multidisciplinary Human Performance Optimization (HPO) team dedicated to keeping aircrew personnel healthy, resilient, and mission ready.

In this role, you’ll provide critical soft tissue therapy services designed specifically for the demands of military aviation. Working alongside other human performance professionals, you will help aircrew recover from the physical demands of flight, reduce injury risk, and optimize performance.

Why This Role Matters
Aircrew operate in a high-stress, high-performance environment. High-G forces, vibration, turbulence, prolonged sitting, and long duty hours can contribute to neck and back pain, muscular dysfunction, fatigue, and reduced physical performance.

Your expertise will play a direct role in addressing these challenges and helping aircrew remain physically prepared for the mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver therapeutic massage and soft tissue treatments.
  • Support injury prevention and rehabilitation programs.
  • Collaborate with HP team and contribute to instructional efforts.
  • Document treatments and maintain compliance with standards.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited massage therapy program.
  • 5+ years of experience in a medical/clinical or college/pro sport, tactical, aerospace, or similar man-machine high-performance environment.
  • State massage therapy license in the state where service delivery will occur.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Tier 1 Security Clearance.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

*This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required by this position.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
