A Snapshot of Your Day
As an LM2500 Service Specialist within Integrated Powertrain Solutions (IPS), you will serve as a technical expert for LM2500 gas turbine overhaul and repair activities. Your day will involve developing new repair and overhaul procedures, validating service methodologies, and designing specialized tooling to support the expansion of independent service capabilities.
You will work closely with global service teams, project managers, engineers, and technicians to resolve complex technical issues, conduct root cause investigations, and provide engineering guidance for overhaul, repair, and field service activities. You will also author technical documentation, establish operational standards, and support the implementation of new service offerings.
In addition, you will mentor junior engineers and technicians, communicate technical findings to leadership and key stakeholders, and collaborate with product lifecycle and design engineering teams to drive continuous improvement, enhance serviceability, and support long-term business growth.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Develop, validate, and document new repair and overhaul procedures for LM2500 engines and components to establish independent service capabilities and support the expansion of Integrated Powertrain Solutions (IPS).
  • Design and specify specialized tooling, fixtures, and equipment required for new overhaul and repair work scopes.
  • Establish and implement operational plans and technical standards for expanded service functions, ensuring alignment with quality, cost, and safety targets, while authoring and maintaining technical work instructions, process specifications, and failure analysis reports.
  • Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex LM2500 engine overhaul, repair, and field service issues.
  • Conduct in-depth root cause analysis and failure investigations on engine components to identify systemic problems and recommend corrective actions or design improvements.
  • Provide expert technical consultation and support to global service teams, project managers, and the expansion site in Aberdeen, UK.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians to foster technical skill development within the Integrated Powertrain Solutions team, while communicating technical strategies, project progress, and critical findings to functional leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with product lifecycle and design engineering teams to integrate serviceability feedback into future product improvements and service offerings.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in gas turbine engineering, including significant hands-on experience in the overhaul, repair, and service of LM2500 engines.
  • Demonstrated experience developing technical procedures, establishing operational plans, leading complex root cause investigations, and authoring technical documentation for repair and overhaul processes.
  • Proven ability to provide advanced technical troubleshooting and failure analysis support for complex gas turbine service activities.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and technicians and collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a technical environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, engineering design processes, tooling, and repair methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, including experience conducting investigations and failure mode analysis.
  • Experience supporting process improvement, quality assurance, and product lifecycle management activities.
  • Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice versa.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
