Job description

The APEX Power Co. Project in Hubbard, TX, currently under Phase 1 construction, is expected to expand to 1.6 GW. It features a diverse mix of generation technologies, including Siemens SGT-800/400 simple cycle turbines, MAN/Everllence 18V51/60G gas reciprocating engines, GE LM6000/LM2500 simple cycle turbines, Pratt & Whitney FT8 simple cycle turbines, and a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), enabling flexible, reliable power output. Future expansion may include additional GE aero and large frame units (6B, 7FA/7FB/7H) in simple or combined cycle configurations, allowing the plant to efficiently meet varying energy demands while supporting data center grid reliability.

Opportunity Summary

As Warehouse Supervisor at APEX Power Co., you will lead and manage all warehouse operations, ensuring critical materials, spare parts, and high-value equipment are accurately received, stored, staged, and available to support construction, commissioning, and ongoing operations. You will oversee inventory control, procurement coordination, equipment readiness, and safety compliance while supervising the Warehouse Specialist and optimizing warehouse workflows for efficiency and reliability. Additionally, you will play a key role in pre-commissioning by ensuring proper training, material readiness, and coordination with commissioning teams, contractors, and engineering personnel to support timely, traceable system start-up.

As Warehouse Supervisor, your responsibilities specific to the Pre-Commissioning Phase include the following functions:

  • Participate in pre-commissioning training on plant systems, warehouse procedures, safety, and environmental requirements, and ensure the Warehouse Specialist is fully trained and prepared for pre-commissioning activities.
  • Oversee the staging and tracking of construction and commissioning materials, spare parts, and high-value components to ensure availability for installation, functional testing, and system start-up activities.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and environmental conditions for sensitive electronics, control panels, PLCs, turbines, engines, and BESS components to maintain operational readiness during pre-commissioning.
  • Coordinate with commissioning teams, contractors, and engineering personnel to ensure warehouse operations support pre-commissioning workflows efficiently, minimize delays, and maintain traceability of all materials prior to full operational readiness.

Your scope of responsibility as Inventory Procurement and Warehouse Specialist includes the following primary functions:

  • Manage procurement of critical materials and spare parts, coordinating with vendors and plant personnel for timely delivery and adherence to specifications.
  • Forecast material requirements and optimize stock levels based on project timelines, maintenance schedules, and operational needs.
  • Receive, inspect, and stage materials, parts, and equipment to support construction, commissioning, maintenance, and operational activities.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures, including physical counts, reconciliation, and reporting, to ensure accurate and reliable stock records.
  • Maintain accountability for all warehouse equipment and ensure safe operation of forklifts, hoists, pallet jacks, and other material handling tools.
  • Oversee the safe storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous, flammable, or regulated materials in compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and plant regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce warehouse safety policies, perform hazard assessments, and cultivate a proactive safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, maintaining thorough documentation to support audits and inspections.
  • Prepare and present reports on inventory levels, material usage, procurement status, and warehouse performance metrics to plant leadership and finance teams.
  • Monitor and manage warehouse-related budgets, procurement expenditures, and accounts payable transactions for materials and equipment purchases.
  • Identify and implement improvements to warehouse layout, material flow, and inventory management processes to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate the disposition of slow-moving, obsolete, or excess inventory, recommending redistribution, sale, or disposal in collaboration with plant leadership.
  • Directly supervise the Warehouse Specialist, providing guidance, training, and prioritizing workloads to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Support emergency response efforts by rapidly mobilizing materials and equipment during unplanned outages, critical maintenance, or operational incidents.
