JOB TITLE: SME Regional Director - Midlands, Wales & North West Region & UK Head of Manufacturing

LOCATIONS: Birmingham

SALARY: Competitive package

HOURS:Full-Time

What you'll be doing

Within the SME division, there is a chance to become a Regional Director responsible for guiding an ambitious team across the Midlands, Wales, and the North-West. This role also encompasses the responsibility to figurehead, internally and externally, our support and propositional development to the UK Manufacturing sector. The responsibility will also include overseeing our strategic 18.5 million partnership with the Manufacturing Technology Centre, supporting the training and upskilling of over 6500 apprentices, graduates, and engineers. This position includes flexible work arrangements, opportunities for personal and career development, and working alongside a committed team to expand the business and advance Lloyds Banking Group's vision of Helping Britain Prosper.

Core Purpose of the Role:

As the SME Regional Director, the role involves:

  • Developing and implementing a regional business plan, leading a group of Area Directors and Relationship Directors/Managers to provide comprehensive banking solutions to our clients.

  • Showing remarkable leadership skills in accomplishing the businesses aims and goals.

  • Serving as the primary banker across business communities within the Region, maintaining a high profile and fostering an environment where growth opportunities can be successfully implemented.

  • Ensuring the team aligns with the standards, behaviours, and ethics of Lloyds Banking Group.

Alongside this, the UK Head of Manufacturing responsibilities include:

  • Working alongside LBG product teams to develop our Manufacturing proposition.

  • Becoming an external figurehead for LBG Manufacturing, acting as face to market for the proposition, and supporting our Brand and Reputation in the marketplace, to drive growth in market share.

  • Supporting with the development and coaching of sector knowledge to enable our colleagues to become the go-to industry experts in local markets.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Advance Lloyds Banking Group's standing in local business communities and with high-value clients to foster business opportunities.

  • Serve as the primary banker in the Midlands, Wales, and North West, managing public relations and external business development efforts to expand the SME franchise.

  • Monitor and evaluate the Region's performance against income, profitability, growth, sales performance, customer service, and complaints, taking corrective action when necessary.

  • Take personal responsibility for planning, implementing, and embedding changes required to support and grow the business.

  • Manage all revenue, product sales, and risks within the Region.

  • Build the abilities of Area Directors and their teams by assisting in the development of sector plans. Guide them in managing the balance sheet following policy, procedure, and compliance guidelines.

  • Lead and promote Equal Opportunities, managing and motivating individuals to enhance performance and foster a culture where the "Best Team" flourishes.

  • Ensure all activities align with internal and external policies, asset quality standards, reporting, legal, statutory, and regulatory requirements.

  • Own the leadership and delivery of our Manufacturing proposition, driving market growth through strategic collaboration with product teams, external representation of the brand, and building sector expertise across colleagues.
