Job Summary
The position of Senior AI Engineer within the Data and Analytics function leverages their skills across Predictive, Generative, and Agentic AI solutions to improve health for a diverse community and redesign the healthcare experiences. You have the opportunity to work with complex AI/ML/LLM-based solutions in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving landscape, answering critical business and clinical questions. This role is critical to scaling our analytics capabilities, empowering teams with actionable insights, and supporting our mission to improve Patient healthcare. You will be part of our rapidly evolving high-performing team that is directly focused on tangible solutions that improve patient access, reduce clinician burnout, create optimal operations, and thoughtfully deploy data & analytics solutions.


Essential Functions

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of ML/AI related platforms and products.
  • Propose, design, develop and implement cloud-based AI solutions that ensure the agility, flexibility, and scalability of our systems.
  • Drive technical design discussions and provide guidance to team members on MLOps best practices, standards and principles.
  • Collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams to drive the development of new features and products, ensuring they meet the Montefiore's AI governance standards and policies.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and trends that can drive ML/AI innovation and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our engineering processes.
  • Ensure reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance of AI/ML systems in production environments.
  • Demonstrate high ownership and accountability for project deliverables in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Quickly learn and adapt to new AI/ML technological concepts and tools as needed.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture, set clear goals, and mentor staff


Qualifications

  • BS Data Analytics
  • 10+ years Design, development, and support for ML/AI related platforms and products
  • Solid understanding of statistical methods and principles
  • Build and Deploy a diverse set of ML models (GLM, GBM, Neural Networks) and NLP solutions at scale.
  • Knowledge in Python and relevant ML libraries, out-of-the box LLMs, Generative AI solutions and LLMOps
  • Automation of ML workflows and pipelines
  • Experience in AI managed services like H20, Snowflake Cortex etc.
  • Experience in Snowflake Knowledge in healthcare preferably in a provider domain
  • Experience with clinical data platforms like EPIC etc. (High proficiency)
