Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth assessments of individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders, tailoring your approach to their specific backgrounds and needs.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans, employing evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and other relevant modalities.
  • Facilitate engaging group therapy sessions that promote community, sharing, and effective recovery strategies among clients.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, addiction specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and coordinated care for all clients.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support during times of acute substance-related emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
  • Educate clients and their families on addiction, coping strategies, and community resources, fostering a supportive recovery environment.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is on clients experiencing substance use disorders. You will work with a diverse population, including those facing challenges with alcohol, prescription medications, and illicit substances. Each client presents unique needs and circumstances, requiring a tailored, empathetic approach to treatment and support.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Psychologist in the state of California.
  • Demonstrable expertise in substance use disorders and a solid understanding of recovery-oriented care principles.
  • Proven experience delivering individual and group psychotherapy in a substance use treatment setting.
  • Strong communication abilities and a non-judgmental, empathetic demeanor.
  • Excellent skills in maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical professional standards.
  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic health records (EHR) systems and relevant technological tools.
