Job Description

Cornerstone Building Brands is looking for a Production Supervisor for our Mt Pleasant, IA facility. As a production supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a diverse and talented manufacturing team, for one of our metal buildings business units. Your primary goal is to properly organize staff members and achieve a reasonable workflow throughout the day. Your position will also include directing, disciplining, training, and assisting manufacturing team employees in a factory setting.

This position will be 3:30pm- 12am, Monday through Friday.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitates the manufacture of building products to meet production demands, while ensuring quality, safety, and productivity
  • Collaborates with plant leadership to develop staffing guidelines, optimizing resource utilization  while controlling costs
  • Hires, supervises, evaluates, and replaces staff as required to meet performance goals
  • Develops and trains employees for increasing responsibilities, conducts periodic evaluations, and holds safety and production meetings daily. Drives initiatives of 5S, cost reduction, and quality improvement
  • Conducts Interviews and identifies qualified candidates for hire
  • Assigns personnel, oversees rotations, and maintains effective communication during shift changes and troubleshooting
  • Ensures accurate completion of paperwork related to line operation, including logs, audits, and corrective actions
  •  Readily addresses any urgent production or shipping requirements, even if it disrupts the regular workflow Knowledge and understanding of all safety polices and regulations and ability to address all unsafe acts and conditions
  • Administers policies fairly and consistently
  • Provides coaching and counselling to employees and corrective action when needed, following company guidelines
  • Promotes overall goals of company in safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Identifies and assists with implementations for continuous process improvement. Uses data to improve and refine production process
  • Manages materials to reduce waste and support quality
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure timely job completions
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills, combines with the ability to educate and train employees in a production environment
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 2 - Year associate degree or a bachelor's degree in related field preferred but not required
  • Minimum of two years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate, mentor and train employees on a regular basis
