What is a Live In job?

A Live-In job typically refers to a position where an employee resides at their workplace, often in a private household or care facility. Common roles include caregivers, nannies, housekeepers, or companions who provide support and services in exchange for accommodation and salary. Live-In employees usually have scheduled working hours but may also offer on-call assistance as needed. The arrangement allows for a close, continuous level of service while providing the employee with a place to live. Specific duties, compensation, and time off vary depending on the employer's agreement.

What are the typical daily routines and responsibilities for a Live In position?

A Live In role typically involves a mix of caregiving or household duties, such as assisting with personal care, preparing meals, light housekeeping, and sometimes providing transportation or companionship. Your schedule may vary depending on the needs of the household, but you can expect to be available for tasks throughout the day, with agreed-upon breaks and personal time. Flexibility is important, as routines can change due to medical appointments, school activities, or other family needs. Many Live In positions offer the opportunity to form meaningful connections with those you care for while gaining valuable experience in home management and personal support.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Live In position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Live In (such as a live-in caregiver, nanny, or housekeeper), you need hands-on experience in caregiving, household management, and possibly childcare or eldercare, often with references or relevant training. Familiarity with communication tools (such as mobile devices) and, in some roles, first aid or CPR certifications are commonly required. Compassion, reliability, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills will help you build trust with the household and adapt to varying needs. These abilities are crucial for maintaining a safe, supportive, and smoothly running living environment for the individuals or families you support.

Temporary

Job description

Description:Camp is Calling โ€” Drummer / Percussion Worship Team Member

This isnโ€™t just a summer jobโ€”itโ€™s a ministry.

At Camp Timber-lee, your rhythm becomes part of something bigger. As a drummer on the Worship Team, youโ€™ll help shape powerful worship experiences that point campers toward Christ while using your musical gifts to build energy, connection, and meaning in every chapel service.

If you love drumming, thrive in live band settings, and want to use percussion to lead people into worshipโ€”not just keep timeโ€”this is your opportunity to make an eternal impact.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and support worship as the drummer/percussionist for chapel and camp services
  • Create strong, steady, and dynamic rhythm foundations for worship sets
  • Collaborate closely with vocalists, guitarists, bass, and keyboard players to shape cohesive worship experiences
  • Help prepare and rehearse worship sets, including transitions, tempo mapping, and dynamics
  • Use percussion creatively (drum kit and/or auxiliary percussion as needed) to enhance worship moments
  • Maintain care of drum equipment, percussion instruments, and stage setup
  • Build meaningful relationships with campers and model Christ-centered leadership
  • Support camper arrival/departure weekends and assist with general camp programming as needed

What You Get

  • $7.25 per hour + housing and meals included
  • Live on-site in a vibrant, faith-centered summer community
  • Hands-on worship leadership and ministry experience for your resume
  • Opportunities for spiritual, personal, and musical growth
  • A summer focused on purpose, mentorship, and Kingdom impact
Requirements:What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • A professing Christian with a personal, active faith in Jesus
  • Strong drumming / percussion skills with experience playing in live band settings
  • Ability to lock in with a metronome, click track, or live worship band
  • Understanding of worship dynamics (soft playing, build-ups, transitions, energy control)
  • Team-first mindset with strong communication and humility
  • Comfortable praying with campers and engaging in gospel-centered conversations
  • Willingness to serve beyond music in a camp ministry environment
  • Interest in mentoring youth and investing relationally in campers
Summer Schedule
  • Staff Training: May 31 โ€“ June 13
  • Camp Sessions: June 14 โ€“ August 8
Important Role Details
  • This is a live-in, residential summer camp position
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old by hire date
  • Active participation in a Christian ministry environment is required
  • Offers are contingent upon successful background and reference checks
Why this role matters

This is more than keeping time. As a drummer on the Worship Team, you help set the emotional and spiritual foundation of worship. Your rhythm helps create space for campers to engage, reflect, and respond to God. Through consistency, sensitivity, and excellence, youโ€™ll help shape moments that campers carry long after summer endsโ€”while growing in your own faith, leadership, and calling.
