Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Neuro ICU position in Lexington, KY, requiring active RN licensure with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications and strong neuro experience preferred.

Details
  • 19-bed Neurosurgical ICU (Neuro ICU) within a hospital setting
  • Patient population includes CVA, neurosurgical, carotid surgery and carotid stent patients, as well as surgical post-op, cardiac interventions, sepsis, general surgery, and complex critical care patients
  • Supports a comprehensive stroke program requiring critical care placement
  • Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts (36 hrs/week)
  • 3–4 weekend shifts required per month
  • 13-week contract
Requirements
  • Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state license currently in hand
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation
  • ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
  • Strong neuro ICU experience strongly preferred
  • MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
  • Copies of all certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, patient and family education, discharge coordination, and quality improvement participation
  • Nursing practice is evidence-based and incorporates all phases of the nursing process with critical thinking and clinical autonomy within scope of practice
  • Collaborates with an inter-professional care team to coordinate individualized treatment plans
  • This unit supports a comprehensive stroke program for patients requiring critical care placement
