Trailer Hauler

Job Location: Fruitland, ID
Starting Salary: $18.00
Employment Type: Hourly FT
Work Environment: 7:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday - Friday with overtime including extended hours and Saturday as needed.
Job Summary:
The Trailer Hauler contributes to the success of the department by transporting wood chips and shavings in trailers to the truck dump that is located onsite, taking ownership for the cleanliness of the shaker room, and filling in for various positions within the department as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Safely driving and operating a semi-truck onsite for the efficient transportation of wood chips and shavings as well as the operation of a skid steer and forklift.
  • Create and maintain accurate records that specify what product is being transported and documenting any equipment damage.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the shaker room by blowing it down with an air hose, sweeping, and shoveling debris.
  • Perform multiple positions within the department such as building pallets, building u-racks, Pellet Mill Operator, Animal Bedding Operator, restacking bags and reworking product.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate heavy equipment.
  • Basic mechanical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical sawmill environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate to high depending on the area of the mill. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; climb ladders; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee must occasionally lift and move 40 pounds.
Travel:
This position does not require travel to other Woodgrain locations.
