Superintendent – Major Ground-Up Development


Location: Chicago, Illinois


Salary: $150,000 – $180,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Our client is one of the most respected developers in the United States, with a proven track record of delivering some of the country’s largest and most complex ground-up developments.


They are seeking an experienced Superintendent to join the team delivering an $8 billion ground-up development in Chicago, incorporating mission-critical facilities, commercial construction, and a state-of-the-art healthcare facility.


About the Role


This is an opportunity to work on one of the largest and most significant construction developments in Chicago, with a long-term pipeline of work across multiple phases.


As Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations and coordinating subcontractors, trades, logistics, safety, quality, and schedule.


The development includes mission-critical infrastructure, commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, major sitework, and complex ground-up construction.


Key responsibilities include:



  • Lead field operations across major ground-up construction projects

  • Manage Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, subcontractors, and trades

  • Drive project schedule, sequencing, and milestone delivery

  • Oversee daily site logistics, manpower planning, and trade coordination

  • Coordinate complex mission-critical, commercial, healthcare, and infrastructure construction

  • Oversee work from sitework and foundations through structure, enclosure, interiors, and turnover

  • Maintain a strong site culture focused on safety, accountability, quality, and execution

Requirements



  • Minimum 8+ years of construction experience

  • Strong experience working as a Superintendent on major ground-up construction projects

  • Experience within mission-critical, commercial, healthcare, multifamily, or other complex construction sectors

  • Experience overseeing projects from sitework and foundations through superstructure, enclosure, interiors, and completion

  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, logistics, scheduling, and trade coordination

  • Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades on large-scale projects

  • Strong safety and quality management experience

  • Good stability throughout your career working for General Contractors

  • Procore experience preferred

  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
