They handle tasks such as responding to tenant requests, performing minor repairs, overseeing building systems, and ensuring the property is clean and safe. Because they live on-site, they are often available to address emergencies and urgent issues promptly. This role is essential in apartment buildings, condominiums, and sometimes commercial properties, ensuring smooth operations and tenant satisfaction.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a live in superintendent?

To thrive as a Live In Superintendent, you need strong knowledge of building maintenance, basic plumbing and electrical repair, and relevant experience in property management. Familiarity with work order systems, HVAC controls, and certifications such as EPA 608 for refrigerant handling are commonly required. These skills ensure the safe, efficient operation of the property and contribute to tenant satisfaction and compliance with building regulations.
