This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering high-quality projects, and wants to play a key role in the growth of an ambitious GC.

As a Superintendent, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day field operations of healthcare construction projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest standards of quality.

You will work closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, consultants, clients, and other project stakeholders to lead the construction process from preconstruction through completion.

Healthcare experience is highly preferred, particularly candidates who have worked in live hospital, medical, acute care, outpatient, or other occupied healthcare environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all day-to-day site construction activities.
  • Take ownership of project schedule, site logistics, sequencing, and field coordination.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, and productivity.
  • Coordinate construction activities within occupied and/or operational healthcare environments.
  • Work closely with hospital and healthcare facility representatives to minimize disruption to ongoing operations.
  • Coordinate shutdowns, phasing, infection control requirements, and complex logistics.
  • Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, codes, and company quality standards.
  • Review drawings and specifications and identify potential constructability issues.
  • Lead and participate in subcontractor coordination and project meetings.
  • Maintain daily reports, schedules, inspections, and other required project documentation.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to maintain project schedule and budget objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Mentor and develop Assistant Superintendents, Foremen, and other field staff.
  • Promote a collaborative, professional, and accountable jobsite culture.
  • Ensure the project is completed safely, on time, and to the highest level of quality.

Ideal candidate:

  • 7+ years of commercial construction experience, with significant experience as a Superintendent.
  • Strong healthcare construction experience.
  • Experience delivering complex projects in hospitals, medical centers, outpatient facilities, laboratories, or similar environments.

  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, scheduling, and sequencing.
  • Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety and quality control.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and other construction documents.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to anticipate issues before they become problems.
  • A track record of successfully delivering projects on schedule and to a high standard.
