Description
We are seeking a Refrigeration Technician 1 to join our Facilities Refrigeration team! The Refrigeration Technician 1 assists the Refrigeration Technician 2 and 3 to support retail refrigeration operations by performing HVAC repair and maintenance, rack refrigeration general maintenance and some routine general refrigeration maintenance service requests for retail stores. Primary responsibilities include:
  • performing repairs and general maintenance using many different refrigerant types such as carbon dioxide (CO2), glycol, etc.
  • repairing and general maintenance of Energy Management systems such as Emerson and Danfoss.
  • performing housekeeping duties such as maintaining accurate parts inventory
  • participating in special refrigeration projects for retail facilities and assisting with the implementation of corporate projects

Year End Bonus
To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks' pay.
Required Qualifications
  • HVAC or Refrigeration Trade school completion or equivalent experience
  • 1 year working in skilled trades service or construction disciplines OR 2 years Publix Retail or Operations experience
  • EPA Universal License
  • must be 18 years of age with a valid driver's license
  • basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • ability to lift/lower/climb ladders/walk on roofs
  • willingness to work a flexible schedule; including nights, weekends, and to travel with overnight stays
  • willingness to participate in an on-call rotation

Preferred Qualifications
  • 20 years of age to drive a company vehicle
