 LIVE HANGER:
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Rapidly pick up live poultry (chicken) by the thighs and place both feet securely into moving conveyor shackles.
Ensure the processing line remains full and constantly moving, often handling birds at rates of up to 27 or more birds per minute.
Strictly follow company animal welfare guidelines to ensure the birds are handled as humanely and stress-free as possible.
Wear all requires Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which includes safety glasses, earplugs, hairnets, aprons, and boots.
Assist others with the skills and knowledge gained from the position.
Observes all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies. Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, co-workers, and leadership teams.
Recognizes and acts on incidents and safety risks. Consistently practices and enforces safe work habits and drives those habits throughout the organization.
Other duties as directed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
* Ability to repeatedly lift birds weighing between 8 lbs. to 10 lbs. for the entire of the shift. 
* Standing, walking, reaching, and bending for 8 to 10 hour shifts.
* Frequent exposure to loud machinery, strong animal odors, wet or dusty floors, and fluctuating temperatures (hot in the summer, cool in the winter)

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.

BASIC SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to comprehend simple instructions
Ability to apply common sense.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to stand and use hands for 8-11 hours per day
Ability to multitask and work quickly
Must be a team player and be willing to work close to other employees at some stations. (Less than 3 feet apart.)
Must have good communication skills.
Food or production experience preferred.
