Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Inspects castings for the following as required on work instructions
    • External defects/scrap chute
    • Excessive core fin or flash
    • Bum-in sand removal
    • High ingate removal
    • Operates all grinders in a safe manner by inspecting grinder for proper adjustment, cracks or chips in the wheel and overall working condition. The casting inspector will report any problems to the supervisor.
    • After inspection, removes excess metal from castings, following directions from work instructions.
    • Places finished parts in designated shipping containers (W-9029) for shipment as specified by work instructions.
    • Places appropriate "OK to Ship" tag on the container and writes clock number, part number and date on the tag (W-9029)
    • Will accept other jobs in the finishing department, as needed.
    • Maintains a clean and orderly work area
