Job description

The Role and Expectations of a Construction Laborer


At Hutchinson Construction, every team member plays an important role in our success. As a General Laborer, you will be a valued part of a skilled team performing earthwork, utility installation, and site development projects. This position offers hands-on training and opportunities for career growth for individuals who are motivated, dependable, and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

·         Assist with earthwork, underground utility, and site development projects.

·         Install water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage piping.

·         Check and maintain grade evaluations using surveying and grading tools.

·         Install and maintain erosion control measures.

·         Perform rigging and material handling operations safely and efficiently

·         Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment as directed

·         Assist with survey layout and project staking.

·         Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

·         Learn to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and project drawings

·         Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations

·         Follow directions from Foremen, Superintendents, and other project leaders.
