Where You Will Work   

Looking to live in a small town with big opportunities? Our Bagdad operations in Arizona offers housing at a subsidized rate, a family-friendly atmosphere and numerous amenities including an aquatic center, golf course and fitness center. Located 100 miles northwest of Phoenix, Bagdad is home to the world's first commercial - scale concentrate leach processing facility, as well as one of the longest continuously operating solvent extraction/electrowinning plants in the world.  Visit the Bagdad town website to learn more.

Description

Performs duties related to general building and infrastructure operation and maintenance including but not limited to plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, painting, masonry, welding, fabrications, HVAC, water treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, gas distribution and other assigned activities.

  • Works with and supports various site departments, such as mine and hydrometallurgical, mill, tailings.
  • Assists with and performs routine maintenance activities such as mechanical PM’s and repairs on, water treatment and storage systems, HVAC systems, wastewater collection and treatment systems and building/housing maintenance.
  • Assists with and performs non-routine maintenance activities as needed
  • Operates various equipment such as front-end loaders, motor graders, forklifts, compaction equipment, overhead and mobile cranes, skid-steer loaders, 25-ton dump trucks, backhoes, water trucks, street sweeper, jetting machines, and manlifts.
  • Works with various building materials such as lumber, hardware, finishing materials, fixtures, and various structural elements.
  • May assist with and perform duties related to ordering and receiving materials.
  • Train and Mentor other Employees
  • Maintain the minimum operator qualifications for the gas distributions systems which includes the following: Prevention of Accidental Ignition, Visual Inspection of Atmospheric Corrosion, Manually Opening/Closing Valves, and Daily Inspections of LP Storage Facilities.
  • May perform other duties as required.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Two (2) years mechanical maintenance repair/rebuild experience in industrial and/or residential equipment including the crafts of welder, plumber, pipe fitter, or carpenter.
  • 2 Grade 1 ADEQ Operator Certification (Either 2 Water Certs or One Wastewater and One Water Cert or obtain them within one (1) year of hire date)
    • Grade 1 Wastewater Collections (C)
    • Grade 1 Water Distribution (D)
    • Grade 1 Water Treatment (T)
    • Grade 1 Wastewater Treatment (W)
  • Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.
  • Valid state driver’s license (or able to obtain one prior to start date)
  • Journeyman level ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals and other reference materials.
  • A working knowledge and understanding of basic prints and ability to read them.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of moving and rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, and gearboxes, from an operations and maintenance perspective, mechanically and electrically.
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures and applicable safety standards.
  • Ability to use a tablet and a smart phone.
  • Ability to multi-task

Criteria/Conditions:

  • This is a Safety sensitive role
  • Employee will be required to work in environments which may include exposure to extreme temperatures and humidity.
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms.
  • Occasionally may be required to lift up to 50 pounds during the course of the workday.

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $25.95 - $38.25/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
