JOB SUMMARY:

The Security Guard’s primary objectives are to perform patrol & surveillance by regularly controlling premises to detect indicators of suspicious activities by monitoring security cameras and conducting surveillance to maintain safety. Security Guards must ensure policies, regulations and procedures are followed to prevent breaches of security. Incident Reporting: Documenting and reporting any unusual or suspicious incidents to the relevant authorities, maintain logs of daily activities and irregularities. Access Control: Ensuring authorized access to property, buildings and facilities. Checking identification and managing visitor access. Security Guards must exercise good judgment, use discretion and be courteous when interacting with members of the public, other contract support personnel, and government officials /personnel. If a breach occurs keep the incident under surveillance and report the incident or situation to the appropriate authority for handling. The Security Guard will prevent unauthorized access to the site and be responsible for safeguarding information.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide routine and emergency on-site security support services for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Monitor daily activities, entrance/exit surveillance and routine or emergency support services for the protection of all facilities for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Maintain robust perimeter security, including fencing, gates, and access control systems, to prevent unauthorized access to the site. All perimeter breaches shall be immediately reported to the site superintendent or authorized representative and documented in activity reports.
  • Conduct frequent and random foot and vehicle patrols of the site perimeter, and controlled areas, with schedules and routes documented in daily logs.
  • Enforce strict access control measures for all personnel entering the site, or controlled areas, verifying identities and authorizations.
  • Communicate via radio, telephone and orally according to instructions.
  • Greet personnel and visitors entering the site. Answer questions, provide directions and information as required.
  • Conduct personnel, building, & facility checks and package and parcel inspection.
  • Pass on all information and instructions concerning the operation of the Post to the relieving Security Guard.
  • Conduct a complete inventory of all items identified on the post accountability listing upon assuming post.
  • Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned.
