Job Summary
The work location for this position will be MSD's Morris Forman Water Quality Treatment Center, 4522 Algonquin PKWY, Louisville, KY 40211.
This vacancy will be filled as an Armed Security Guard I or II (Part time) based on candidate qualifications. Salary ranges are as follows:
Armed Security Guard I (Part Time) $24.74 Hourly -$36.78 Hourly
Armed Security Guard II (Part Time) $26.57 Hourly- $39.84 Hourly

Armed Security Guard I
Serves as an armed security guard to prevent theft, preserve peace, and prevent disorder on MSD property. Provides direct responsibility for MSD Morris Forman Treatment Plant, Central Maintenance Facility and MSD Main Office. Responsible for building and site security related to employees, customers, vendors, visitors and the general public on MSD facilities. Assists with the day to day operations of Contract Security Guards. Interacts with internal and external customers. Conducts investigations related to emergency service calls, and customer misconduct. Completes written reports for review by the Security Supervisor. Responsible for logging all non-MSD individuals entering MSD facilities. Monitors surveillance cameras to deter and reports suspicious activity.
Armed Security Guard II
Serves as an armed security guard to prevent theft, preserve peace, and prevent disorder on MSD property. Provides protection and enforcement when necessary to maintain peace and order, prevent and detect theft, preserve peace, and prevent disorder. Works to promote the safety of employees, visitors and public at MSD facilities. Works to prevent the loss of property through fire, theft, vandalism and other criminal acts on MSD facilities. Patrols MSD properties, monitors activities and works to promote a secure workplace environment. Signs in and logs all contactors, vendors and visitors entering and exiting MSD Treatment Plants. Greets customers, vendors and employees coming onto MSD plants and the main office building. Provides Main Office security desk coverage and coverage for the Guard Shack at the Treatment Plants. Utilizes a PC and monitors surveillance cameras to investigate suspicious activity and obtains information and identification of individuals. Assists with issuance and retrieval of temporary access badges and contractor badges. Assists in coordinating security and safety for main office employees and the credit union. Provides security for the entrance at CMF and Morris Forman and other MSD locations within Jefferson County. Escorts person(s) from the building when necessary to diffuse incidents. Assists in monitoring and responding to alarms and calls of distress. Notifies proper authorities in emergencies. Covers guard stations and posts as necessary during vacancies.

Minimum Requirements
Armed Security Guard I
High School Diploma or GED; one or more years of security experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Must possess a valid Armed Guard License issued by Louisville Metro Department of Codes and Regulations prior to the start of work. Must possess a valid concealed carry deadly weapon permit (CCDW). Must possess and provide a suitable firearm for use on post. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must have safe work and driving habits.
Armed Security Guard IIHigh School Diploma or GED; three or more years of law enforcement or security experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Must possess a valid Armed Guard License issued by Louisville Metro Department of Codes and Regulations prior to the start of work. Must possess a valid concealed carry deadly weapon permit (CCDW). Must possess and provide a suitable firearm for use on post. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must have safe work and driving habits. Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice or a related field is preferred.
