Job description

Trueline is seeking a Commercial HVAC Estimator to join their onsite team in Phoenix, Arizona, near Sky Harbor Airport with a well-established HVAC manufacturer's representative serving commercial mechanical contractors across the Southwest, This role is ideal for an experienced HVAC estimator who enjoys detailed plan-and-spec work, managing a steady bid volume, and supporting sales within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
What You'll Do as the Commercial HVAC Estimator:
  • Review commercial construction drawings, mechanical plans, and technical specifications
  • Perform detailed HVAC and airside material takeoffs
  • Prepare accurate equipment quotations for commercial mechanical projects
  • Price HVAC equipment, ventilation products, and related mechanical systems
  • Manage multiple active bids while meeting submission deadlines
  • Support sales representatives throughout the estimating and quotation process
  • Prepare internal follow-up documentation for active bids and quoted projects
  • Coordinate with sales, operations, and other internal departments
  • Maintain organized estimating files, pricing records, and bid documentation
  • Communicate clearly with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Identify scope gaps, pricing issues, and missing information before quotations are submitted
  • Support commercial projects ranging from approximately $1,000 to $250,000

Must-Haves as the Commercial HVAC Estimator:
  • 3+ years of commercial HVAC or mechanical estimating experience
  • Experience reading commercial construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience performing HVAC takeoffs and preparing project estimates or quotations
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and mechanical construction
  • Ability to price equipment and material for plan-and-spec projects
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent organization and time management
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
