Transportation Driver Essential Functions/Duties and Responsibilities:

To transport residents to various locations and appointments within our driving zone. To assist the company with transportation needs as necessary. To participate and effectively transport residents and staff to scheduled outings/trips around the city.

  • Must be courteous, patient, and willing to assist residents as they enter and leave vehicle(s).
  • Must be able to provide assistance to residents as they use elevators and wheelchair assistance to residents by pushing, lifting, etc.
  • Must be able to operate vehicle cell phone.
  • Must be able to work occasional flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must fill vehicles with gasoline and surrender keys, gas receipts, and credit card to Director of Housekeeping. Also reports condition of vehicle at end of days driving duties.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of streets in and around Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. Occasionally travel out of town.
  • Other Transportation Driver duties as assigned.

Education required:
Must possess a high school diploma.
Experience required:
Prior professional driving experience
Professional license or certification requirements:
Must have a valid North Carolina CDL license with no prior violations. Class P preferred
Specific skills, knowledge and abilities required:
Must be at least 21 years old. Must be able to operate standard sedan vehicle and Southminster bus. Must be able to pass drug/alcohol test prior to and during employment.
