Job description

Team Mobile Health Care is looking for EMS Behavioral Health Transport Drivers who will play a crucial role in the healthcare system by providing safe and efficient transportation for patients who require voluntary/involuntary medical assistance. They are responsible for driving an ambulance to residence, hospitals, and various healthcare facilities. The ambulance driver ensures that the vehicle is always in optimal condition, follows traffic rules and regulations, and provides necessary support to the healthcare professionals on board.
Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a 10-passenger bus during emergency and non-emergency calls
  • Maintain ambulance cleanliness, readiness, and stocked medical supplies
  • Respond promptly to dispatch while following non-emergency vehicle operation protocols
  • Communicate clearly with dispatch, patients, medical staff, and team members
  • Adhere to traffic laws, regulations, and safe driving practices while operating the ambulance, including defensive driving techniques in emergency situations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to HIPAA requirements
  • Complete daily vehicle checks and reports on mechanical or safety issues

Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License/No CDL required
  • Strong understanding of traffic laws, regulations, and defensive driving techniques.
  • Handle with Care experience with verbal and physical de-escalation
  • Experience with Wheelchair lifts preferred
  • Must be responsible with good customer service skills
  • Ability to remain calm and composed during high-stress situations, such as emergencies or heavy traffic.
  • Good communication interacts effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and emergency medical procedures.
  • Attention to detail in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Physical stamina, strength to lift and move patients safely, and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Problem-solving skills to address unexpected situations and make quick decisions.
  • Time management skills to prioritize tasks and ensure timely responses to non-emergency and emergency calls.
  • 8 to 10-hour workdays, Monday through Friday, shift starts at 10:00 a.m.

Qualifications
  • A high school diploma required.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification is preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited ambulance driver training program preferred.
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the job, including lifting and moving patients.
  • Knowledge of local roads and geography to navigate efficiently.
  • Prior experience in emergency medical services or a related field is an advantage (preferred)
