  • One year of experience in an acute care hospital preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program
  • Current Louisiana licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • CPR Certification required
  • NRP, PALS, and ACLS certifications preferred

What You Will Do:
Provide respiratory therapy and perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to cardiopulmonary disorders in accordance with physician orders and established practices.
  • Deliver and set up respiratory care equipment, ensuring proper function and adherence to safety standards
  • Monitor patients on continuous ventilation and make necessary equipment adjustments per departmental standards
  • Assess treatment effectiveness and collaborate with medical staff on patient care plans
  • Adhere to hospital safety and infection control policies, ensuring all equipment is clean, sterile, and ready for use
  • Handle medications securely and accurately as part of respiratory treatments
  • Educate and mentor staff through in-service presentations, serve as a resource for peers, and stay current with professional advancements
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives to enhance department operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
