Midwest Counseling Center is actively seeking a compassionate and culturally sensitive full-time Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dedicated team. This role presents a unique opportunity to provide impactful mental health services remotely while engaging with a diverse range of clients in an outpatient office setting. You will be instrumental in delivering tailored therapeutic interventions, enhancing client well-being, and fostering resilience in individuals facing mental health challenges.

Work Environment

As a remote position, this role offers a structured yet flexible work environment. Our practice operates during standard business hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility available to accommodate patient scheduling. You will work within an outpatient office framework, collaborating with fellow therapists, psychiatrists, and other healthcare providers to ensure holistic and comprehensive care for each client.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough and culturally sensitive mental health assessments to gather information on patients' unique experiences and inform the development of individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, ensuring consideration of clients' cultural and personal contexts, to address a wide range of mental health concerns.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions aimed at promoting resilience, emotional well-being, and coping strategies among clients.
  • Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to treatment and patient care.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention support when required, assuring the safety and well-being of clients during mental health emergencies.
  • Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and accessible community resources to encourage informed decision-making.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation of all patient interactions in alignment with legal and ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in record-keeping.
  • Engage in team case conferences, contribute to team meetings, and participate in cultural competency training sessions to enhance collaborative efforts within the organization.
  • Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and cultural trends in mental health to apply innovative approaches in therapy.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clientele is diverse, reflecting a multitude of cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist in the state of Texas.
  • Strong comprehension of mental health disorders, evidence-based therapies, and the importance of cultural competence in treatment approaches.
  • Experience in providing therapeutic interventionsโ€”both individually and in groupsโ€”utilizing inclusive and culturally responsive methodologies.
  • Demonstrated crisis intervention capabilities with the ability to navigate high-pressure scenarios calmly and effectively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven record of building rapport and trust with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications relevant to practice management.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, professional boundaries, and maintaining client confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting, promoting collaborative client outcomes.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working in outpatient settings providing mental health counseling to diverse populations.
  • Utilization of specific therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or Trauma-Informed Care.
  • Familiarity with community resources to assist clients in navigating additional support services.
Compensation and Benefits
